Sam's Town Point has been a South Austin institution since 1981. The no-frills honky-tonk features live country music on both indoor and outdoor stages. Two-stepping happens wherever there's room - this isn't a formal dance hall, it's a neighborhood bar where dancing breaks out. Cheap beer, friendly regulars, and the kind of authentic Texas atmosphere that's increasingly rare. The standing Saturday bill is Ramsay Midwood at 11pm, so plan on a late night.
